Imbalances in the foot can result in abnormal foot motion such as supination or high arches when one tends to walk on the outside border of the foot. Over-pronation which is opposite to supination, sometimes called flat feet or fallen arches when one tends to walk on the inside border of the foot. This can impair foot function which may result in abnormal biomechanical alignment of the lower limbs and can sometimes affect the ankles, knees, hips or back, excessively it can cause micro tears to the soft tissue structure which can cause pain during walking or running
